Don’t take our word for it. Read the permission list.
Most checklist apps ask for internet access and then promise to behave. TopTick never asks. Open Settings › Apps › TopTick on your own phone and look: there is no internet permission to revoke, because there is none to grant.
No account. No sign-in. No analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising ID. Your lists are written to your phone’s own storage and read back from it. That is the whole architecture.

Before you install
Reasonable questions.
If it has no internet, how does sharing work?
Your phone’s share sheet does it. TopTick hands the text to WhatsApp,
Gmail or whatever you pick, and that app sends it — the same as sharing a photo.
TopTick itself never opens a connection, which is why it needs no permission.
What happens to my lists if I change phones?
Settings → Backup to file writes everything to one small file you keep
wherever you like — Drive, a computer, an SD card. On the new phone, Restore from file
brings back every list, tick, quantity and reminder.
Is it really free? What’s the catch?
Free, with no ads, no subscription and no paid tier. There is no catch
because there is no business model attached to your data — the app cannot send it
anywhere. It was built to solve a real problem, and it is small enough to give away.
Can two of us edit the same list at the same time?
Not live — that would need a server. What you get instead: share the list,
they tick it in their own copy, send it back, and your list updates rather than
duplicating. Their ticks merge into yours with the real times. For a shopping trip it
works well; for second-by-second collaboration it does not.
Does it work offline, on a ship, in a basement?
It only works offline. There is no online mode to fall back from. Everything
— creating, ticking, reminders, backups — happens on the device with no signal at all.
Which Android versions does it run on?
Android 7.0 (2016) and newer, which covers effectively every phone still in
use. The app is about 3.6 MB.
